*Tam headed into the cockpit and sat on the pilot's chair. Leaning back, he propped his feet in front of him and rested his head on his arms, which were folded behind him.* *Rowena grabbed some of her tools and checked out the problem she had seen. After fiddling with components for several minutes, she jacked into the Wanderer's matrix to see if she could find exactly what was wrong.* ~*~*~ *Aruna finished work on the wing and stood up. She noticed Marc a short distance away, gazing at a ship where moments before there had been crewmembers working on it. It was a freighter, and a fairly battered one at that. In spite of it's battered condition, Aruna had a feeling it was definitely a space-worthy craft. Just as she was about to step towards him and say something, the woman who had passed earlier walked by her. Throwing caution to the wind, Aruna halted her by laying a hand on her arm. The human reacted instantaneously and Aruna had a gun pointed at her head moments later.* Who are you and what do you want? *Maeve questioned, eyeing the strange, exotically beautiful alien.* Forgive me for startling you. I have a question for you. *Aruna answered.* I am Aruna Secura and I wanted to ask you if you were in need of escorts for your ship. *Maeve was silent a moment, considering Aruna's words.* How can I trust you not to blow off my tail the moment it strikes your fancy? You can't know for sure, but I promise you I would not. You have my word of honor, and that is something you can stand by. I never go back on my word. *Aruna answered.* I'll think about it, talk to my crew about it, and get back to you on that later. *Maeve said.* Where's your ship? *Aruna gestured towards the shuttle she and Crash had arrived in.*

*Now this had taken an interesting turn...Marc crouched down on his heels as standing was growing wearisome, to observe the scene.. Escorts, he heard Aruna say, and the mercenary in him wondered just what that implied. Bodyguards? Fellow pilots? Fighters? Cargo watchers? All of the above? He couldn't help but be curious, especially if cash was involved as another incentive. Perhaps he should talk to Aruna once again, offer his services...but she was techincally some kind of fugitive and he wasn't sure he'd like to be caught aboard her ship when her hunters managed to track her down. Blown to bits in a shuttle wasn't the way he wanted to go... Choices within choices... He thought.*

All right, I'll get back to you in about an hour. *Maeve said.*
*Aruna nodded her head, in acknowledgment and farewell, then turned to head back to her shuttle. She and Crash would discuss trading in their shuttle for a pair of fighters.*
~*~*~
*Maeve stepped into the cockpit of the ship and smiled in amusement at the sight that greeted her eyes. While Rowena was busy working on the ship, Tam was sitting in the pilot's chair relaxing.*
You enjoying yourself, Tam? *she questioned.*
*Tam started in surprise and nearly fell out of his chair. He scrambled to his feet and grinned sheepishly.*
Ah, um, I was just sittin' for a minute while helpin' Rowena out. We're fixin' something. *he replied, trying to look innocent.*
*Maeve gave the young pilot a stern mock-glare.* Rowena is working at fixing the ship and doing a splendid job on her own. You, on the other hand, are doing sweet nothing. Did you make her prepare all the cargo too?
*Rowena had jacked out in time to hear the conversation and listened in silence, trying not to laugh out loud at the expression on Tam's face.*
I helped her in the cargo bay! *he protested.* Honest, I did!
He's telling the truth about that. *Rowena interjected, even though she had been tempted not to say anything.*
Well, at least he helped you with something. *Maeve said. She muttered something about "lazy fellow", but there was a twinkle of amusement in her eyes as she spoke.*

*Tired of wasting his day such, and enticed by a possible monetary reward for his troubles, Marcastus decided to be bold. Walking up the ship, the mercenary knocked on its hull with his gloved fist. He was far from gentle about it, and the metal reverbrated with the force of his pounding, but he really didn't want to waste any more time. If they didn't want to hire him on as an escort, he had other places to go and other people to meet...*

((K))
*The Twi'lek poked her head out the door of the shuttle and smiled a greeting when she saw Marc.* You looking for something? *she questioned.*

*Marcastus shrugged* Well, not really looking for something in specific but rather attempting to placate my damnable curiosity. I heard you mention something earlier about the need for escorts...*he left the sentence hanging, hoping she could supply him with more information rather than him having to dig for it*

*Aruna nodded.* Yes, I did mention the need for escorts, though not for myself and Crash. The freighter that arrived here not long ago is possibly in need of escorts, and I offered the service of myself and Crash. We were just going to sell our shuttle and buy two starfighters. *The exotically beautiful alien smiled slightly.* I am certain that an extra escort would not be a problem for the freighter captain.

Unfortunately I do not know this mentioned Captain, *he replied with a trace of regret* It would be wrong of me to approach her for the first time and inquire after a job that she most likely already has filled. I may be a mercenary, but I'm not that eager to secure work...

She did not have anyone currently working for her as escort. *Aruna remarked.* And she only has two other crew members.

Well, unless you aim to personally introduce me, *he said,* Then I fear I would not know what to say to her or more importantly...how to secure the job..

I would be willing to personally introduce you, as long as you are not averse to that. *Aruna replied.*

I have no objection. Why would I? *he asked, flashing a grin at her, his teeth a glittering white*

*The Twi'lek laughed.* I did not think you would have an objection. Nor do I suppose you would have a reason to have an objection either.
*She grew serious.* We are simply waiting for her to return with a decision. When she comes, I will introduce you.
